This cafe is a must try! Artisan was our saviour while staying in Rotorua, we went multiple times a day. Not only did the meals taste sensational, they were also made with healthy ingredients and had options for everyone (gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, vegan). The meals were plated to perfection. They have a delicious organic coffee and a fridge full of healthy desserts and to-go items. The staff & chefs of this small business were very welcoming and friendly, service was attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Thank you for a wonderful experience, we will miss dining here.

A decent spot in Rotorua with promise! Not a bad option, and one that seemed less busy on the day. A good range of options available! The open steak sandwich, despite not being “open” (just an observation), was well executed. The onion rings were a fun addition. The sauce I’d wanted from the menu wasn’t available, and staff didn’t ask what alternative I’d like — not a big deal, but it would’ve been nice if they had. It was also a little tricky eating from a high-rimmed plate; maybe serving the fries separately would help. At least everything was tasty! The chicken and bacon waffles were phenomenal — neatly presented, perfectly cooked, and needed nothing fancy. I ordered a white chocolate mocha but received a regular one, still delicious, and not worth the hassle of changing after waiting. Still, a quick order check with customers could help avoid small mix-ups, especially when it’s not too busy. Maybe it was just a one-off error, but it would be good to check this with customers in the future.
We first visited Artisan Café for a coffee and a light lunch (mushrooms on toast), and it was so delicious that we came back the following day for lunch. This time we had eggs Benedict with beef brisket and a spicy chai latte. Everything was top notch. The smoothies were another standout. It is clearly a family-run business, and this really shows in the the care put into the food. Highly recommended.
I’ve come here three days in a row for the same breakfast,” the little mermaid” . A single egg Benedict with salmon. The hollandaise is excellent, and the presentation is very haute cuisine For such a Small casual café. I must try for breakfast iin Rotorua. Super friendly staff and great airy atmosphere with excellent Wi-Fi as well.
As soon as I got here I had the waitresses attention. She took my order quickly and food arrived quickly. Smoothie was great and the Halloumi salad was one of the best salads I've ever had. Even the Halloumi was thinly sliced not like the thick industrial one. Portion was big and i finished it off with a tasty espresso. Also the waitress was working several tables alone but efficiently. Absolutely recommend it!
What a treat! Dropped by this establishment with modest expectations but were all blown away by the eclectic fare.
The best food we've eaten in a long time! The chef knows the ins and outs of his food, was amazing for allergies, and the service is great. All food is handmade and incredibly tasty. Highly recommend the kumara fries for the side dish, best we've ever eaten!
